Christmas

Christmas

My story

Although I'd heard a few Christmas albums in my childhood, the first one I actually bought (on vinyl) was by Lynn Anderson. I remember buying it in May (!) one year when I was building my collection of her music. Perhaps it wasn't an ideal time to buy it but if I'd waited, maybe it wouldn't be available. I was most impressed by that album despite acquiring it at the wrong time of year. I eventually became a big fan of Christmas music as you can see from my Amazon reviews. Surprising as it may seem, I never get bored with the old chestnuts. I actually find it interesting to hear all the different interpretations of the same songs, but then I've always had a soft spot for cover versions.

My reviews

Please note that, for now, I've only listed albums from Amazon UK that weren't listed elsewhere at the time I set up the page; some have since been set up on Amazon.com and in such cases, the UK entry remains but I've added the US entry too. One day I'll list everything but it won't be any time soon. For Germany (Amazon.de), I've only listed the foreign language albums. It is unlikely that I will ever list the others here.

Please also note that multi-artist compilations are listed together on a single page, but albums by individual artists are listed by category. One day, I hope to add a section on tracks that appear on non-Christmas albums but which I don't have on Christmas albums.
